During the Middle Years Program (MYP), learners improve their language and literature skills in six different ways: reading, speaking, writing, viewing, and presenting. Language lessons in the MYP are centered on inquiry, which gives students opportunities to investigate, act, and reflect on what they’ve learned independently and collaboratively.

The students explore a variety of literary texts, including poetry and prose, in order to learn about basic literary principles such as narrative perspective, characterization, and plot.
