Language and literature classes in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) improve skills in six areas: listening, speaking, reading, writing, viewing, and presenting. Inquiry is at the core of MYP language learning, and it attempts to promote students' knowledge by giving them chances to investigate, act, and reflect on their learning independently and collaboratively.
We provide language and literature classes in English, French, Arabic, and other languages at IB Scholars. We want to make sure that students have a strong foundation in literary analysis and analytical writing. We lead them to examine basic literary principles such as narrative point of view, characterization, and plot through exploring a variety of literary texts, including poetry and prose. Students will obtain a greater comprehension of the ideas concealed behind words because of these class discussions and homework tasks, preparing them to analyze unseen texts (Paper 1) and novels (Paper 2) in the IBDP.
Criteria A is ‘analyzing' through which students are enabled to deconstruct texts in order to identify their essential elements and their meaning.
Criteria B is ‘organizing' which helps students organize their ideas and opinions using a range of appropriate conventions for different forms and purposes of communication.
Criteria C is centered on ‘producing text' where students will produce written and spoken text, focusing on the creative process itself and on the understanding of the connection between the creator and their audience
Criteria D is based on ‘using language' and students are required to use accurate and varied language that is appropriate to the context and intention of the written or spoken or visual text.
Group tutoring is a cost-effective and time-efficient method of learning. To make studying more effective, our skilled tutors assess each student's topic knowledge demands and learning ability. Unlike in large classrooms, the teacher devotes his or her complete attention and time to students in small groups.

At IB Scholars, we have students who move through their entire five-year MYP program (from age 11 to 16 years). As the curriculum requires them to complete studies in eight subject areas, as well as an integrative subject and a Personal Project, we design our classes according to the provided structure.
