Personal Project
You may be able to realize a long-held dream of coming up with an out-of-the-box idea for your MYP Personal Project. The MYP Personal Project must be completed in your final year before entering the IBDP if you are enrolled in the Middle Years Program. While constructing a personal project, you can consolidate your classroom learning. During the initiative, participants will be challenged to demonstrate their abilities in self-management, research, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration.
As opposed to the e-assessments, the Personal Project is a mandatory component of the MYP and is externally moderated. In addition to encouraging independent thinking, the Personal Project fosters cross-disciplinary learning. The MYP has extensive responsibilities related to these initiatives, and the basic concept behind the initiatives is well suited to many aspects of the IBDP as well as university education. The school’s grades are moderated equally by sending out samples of projects.
It is crucial that you select a topic that you will enjoy studying, since the personal project involves approximately 25 hours of labor. It is important that you include your personal interest in the project in your final presentation or report. It can be challenging to find a topic that is both interesting to you and meets requirements. Now that you have chosen a topic that you are passionate about, you may find it challenging to switch your focus from developing content for your project to writing your report.
To grade your personal project, you will use the following criteria. Having a solid product or outcome is important for your own project.
- Criterion A: Investigation
Make an effort to create a clear aim for your project and link it to your personal interests. Do some in-depth study on the aim. For instance, if you are developing a website to educate people about global warming, conducting research on the subject would be advantageous. Try to explain why your project is important.
- Criterion B: Planning
Create a detailed plan for achieving your objectives. Keep track of your progress. When you try to remember everything, you did during the last few months the night before your report is due, it can be difficult.
- Criterion C: Action
Concentrate on producing a high-quality product/outcome that is related to your aim.
- Criterion D: Evaluation
A little self-criticism is never a bad thing! Concentrate on what you did well, what you might need to improve on. Remember that an honest evaluation is worth 25% of your grade, so think about your approach and outcome.
At IB Scholars, we have IB MYP tutors and writing support consultants who are aware of the grading criteria and help students choose a topic that best fits their personality and matches the research requirements that will be taken into consideration for the final marking.
Personalized Learning
Group tutoring is a cost-effective and time-efficient method of learning. To make studying more effective, our skilled tutors assess each student's topic knowledge demands and learning ability. Unlike in large classrooms, the teacher devotes his or her complete attention and time to students in small groups.
Expert IB Tutors
A thorough selection process is used to identify our highly trained and experienced IB tutors. Every one of our tutors has years of expertise instructing students in a classroom setting. They have been thoroughly evaluated for subject matter knowledge and teaching abilities.
Interactive And Time-Efficient
Group tutoring allows students to have classes at a predetermined but convenient time and from the comfort of a real classroom, allowing them to save several hours of idle time. Students who are traveling outside of the city can take online lessons at any time and from any location.
